| Color: b
AHR*276853; CAHR*19331
Foaled March 4th, 1982. Sire of 48 registered foals, by 1992 Shabumi was ranked 3rd in Alberta Horse Improvement Program of Leading Sires. Owned by the Wilke family of SHABUMI GROUP - Alberta, CN. Named from "Shibumi," a Japanese Zen concept referring to a particular aesthetic of simple, subtle, and unobtrusive beauty; with suitable changes to honor his sire, Bey Shah. Injured in a paddock accident at nine-days-old; broken hip after being kicked. Saved by surgery with metal pining, which later lead to an infected open wound -- treated by antibiotics. Wound healed after 3-months. Shabumi was never shown due to unsoundness and scarring on his left hind end from the injury. Euthanized due to unsoundness on both hind legs after the 1992 breeding season -- June 8th, 1992.
