DE 306/06/22006/70 39-11-- A solidly-built average-sized horse (he stood 16h.(1.63m)), Star Appeal was active on the racetracks from ages two to five and achieved his victories over distances ranging from 6 furlongs(1200m) to 1 1/2 miles(2400m).
As a 5-y-o, Star Appeal proved to be a horse of international caliber, winning three Group I races, most importantly the Arc -1975-(at odds of 119 to 1) which brought him to the forefront in world racing. Among the horses he beat in that great French race were Allez France, Ivanjica, Dahlia, Nobiliary, Duke Of Marmalade, Bruni and Green Dancer.
In 1976 Star Appeal was sent to stud. One of his fillies, Madam Gay, won the Prix de Diane de Revlon in 1981.
He died in Enland in 1987.
