The pedigree correction was supplied by an advertisement in the Irish publication, The Universal Advertiser, of March 14, 1754. Henry Spedding, the owner of Coalition Colt, said he was purchased the previous spring as a four-year old from his breeder, Sir Marmaduke Wyvill. His dam was not the Danger Mare to whom he is traditionally attributed. It is not clear whether Sister 1 and Sister 2 to Antelope are the same mare. Later owned by Sir J. Dutton, he sired the dam of Grecian Princess (ch.f. 1770).
