From the Crabbet Arabian Stud by Archer, Covey and Pearson Ferida was a Menaghy of the Ibn Sbeyel tribe an imported bay mare bred by the Shammartribe in Mesopotamia from whom she was purchased at Deyr on the Euphrates for Mohammed Khuddr Jemal ed Din by his nephew Jemal ed Din brought her to Egypt in 1891, when she was 5 years old and the Blunts bought her on 21st January and imported her to Crabbet Park in 1891 Renowned for imparting great beauty, sweetness and in the desert the line was said to impart great speed Said to be a little over 14 hands Photo in AHS News 1984
