According to Al Khamsa: "*Kismet was imported in 1882 to India by the 'aqayl, 'Abd al-Rahman, then imported in 1884 to England by Mr. Broadwood, and finally imported in 1891 to the USA by Randolph Huntington." *Kismet sired the colts *Nimr and *Garaveen in England, both of whom Huntington imported after their sire died. (He sired no purebred foals in the US.) His lasting influence is undeniable: from those two colts, *Kismet had 15 grandchildren and 59 great-grands. As of 2026, 149 years and 15 generations after his birth, there are still a dozen registered Arabians carrying his blood. Photograph and painting of *Kismet from Hypoint on Fotki.
