bred by Mr. Gascoigne; owned by Mrs. Potter; The General Stud Book, 1845, Vol.5, p.370 (added to Vol. 4, 1840, p.434); two namless fillies by MULEY MOLOCH, brown: *1840, bay *1841, later in stud book no year of birthy, no color, so it is not possible to say which of the two mares can be considered the mother. If the breeder had given names, it wouldn't have been a problem :-((...genetically irrelevant...The family probably couldn't tell anymore, even though the mare remained in the family. At birth they were distinguished by their color name. Unfortunately, this did not continue with the entry as dams..Only one of the two mares then has an entry in the Stud Book. SOLUTION to the puzzle: The General Stud Book, 1849, Vol.6, p.266/267 (MULEY MOLOCH MARE)!!!;
